The goals of the program are:

• To foster and promote cross cultural understanding and
friendship between teenagers of different nationalities;

• To provide an authentic environment for learning the Chinese
language and understanding its culture and its people.

Program Method and Activities

The program uses immersion method in both language instruction
and cultural exposure. Participants will be joined by native
Chinese teenagers in all activities during the day. In the evening
and on weekend, participants will experience an authentic Chinese
living by residing with the families of their Chinese buddies.

Program Participants

• Teenagers between 11 and 18

2007 Program Schedule Buddies Program in China runs from
July 2nd to July 15th, 2007.

The application deadline for the Buddies Program In
China 2007 is May 31st, 2007.

Buddies Program in China is designed by Huaxia Institute of
Cultural Exchange (HXICE), a non-profit corporation created to
promote cultural exchange between the United State and People's
Republic of China. The Program is hosted by the Golden Palm
Academy of Culture and Arts in Shanghai, China.
